Gertrude Thoma is an actress, singer and voice-over artist from Augsburg/Germany; she has been based in London for over 20 years.

Her acting roles range from ‘Gertrude’ in Hamlet to ‘Magenta’ in the Rocky Horror Show. A particular highlight was starring opposite Matt Smith in the BBC dram ‘Christopher and his Kind’. She has performed her cabaret show “From Brecht to Brel” with the Ensemble ‘Ports of Call’ in London, Barcelona and at the Edinburgh Festival (Traverse Theatre).

As a voice-over artist she has recorded the German versions of TV –, radio- and cinema commercial campaigns (Milka, Dell, Xbox, John Frieda etc.), SatNavs (incl. Jaguar) and Video Games (incl. Metal Gear Solid, Portal).

She has directed the German versions of numerous TV Commercials and for five years was the voice coach of the German team at Bloomberg TV. She has taught voice production at various Goethe Institutes around Europe.

She has been developing short films with the Actors’ Screen Collective since 2011 and “Marmots” is her directorial debut.
