V.MartinVerity Rae Martin honed her acting and singing skills at The Brit School where she studied Theatre and Musical Theatre. She later appeared on screen in The Bill, Dreamteam Sky 1, Midsummer Murders, Little Miss Jocelyn. Commercials include Ocado, Vision Express and Max Power. Her film credits include ‘I Really Hate My Job’ starring Neve Cambell and ‘Godforsaken’ directed by Jamil Dahlavi. She performed in the touring production of Mammia Mia, secured leading roles in various theatre Pantomimes and toured around the UK in her own cabaret show and band. One of her greatest moments in her career was touring in India with band ‘Demand’. Verity said “I loved exploring such a beautiful country, we were on the front page of every local newspapers and it was so surreal seeing our faces on billboards”.

12 years later after becoming a mum Verity teamed up with one of the country’s best loved actresses Pauline Quirke and opened a Pauline Quirke Performing Arts Academy in Rochester in 2009. Due to its success it expanded and then Verity opened a second Academy in Tonbridge in 2011 and most recently a PQA in Tunbridge Wells.PQA is a weekend performing arts Academy providing tuition for children and young people from 4-18 years. Students receive tuition in Comedy and Drama, Musical Theatre and Film and TV.

Verity is an extremely proud Principal and in total her Academies boast around 300 students who all go along to the weekly classes for different reasons. Some to make friends and grow in confidence and some because the performing arts is a huge passion and they want to pursue a career in the industry.

Over the last 6 years Verity, along with her excellent team of professional tutors has directed and produced a number of productions, including a full scale Musical of Zombie Prom and Great Expectations. Verity also arranges regular shows for her Poppets class, children under the age of 6. All her students have passed their Trinity Guildhall Examination`s with distinctions or High commendations, which is free to all PQA students. Students at PQA also receive the opportunity of performing at her Majesty’s Theatre London, so far Verity has arranged this amazing opportunity 4 times.

Through the fantastic tuition Verity’s students receive every weekend, some have gone onto securing parts in west end show`s such as Matilda and tours such as Pricilla Queen of the Desert, plus commercials and short films. With one student landing a part in EastEnders, Feature Film London Road, The Tunnel Sky Atlantic all with the help of PQA’s exclusive agency Quirky Kids.
